Danielle Kathleen, Feelin' Warmer in Winter- After Handmade!

Whew! What an intense Saturday!

You can't entirely appreciate the hours of work and dedication it takes for a person to prep for and set up a market stall until you blithely walk into the middle of doing just that. Hours of making, tagging, pricing, displaying, rearranging, sewing and counting and crossing fingers later... and those two little tables are FINALLY ready to be seen by someone other than your mother!

A day like yesterday, however, makes it all worth it! So many repeated customers, new fans, friends, family, conversations were packed into a few short hours, and we couldn't help but have the time of our lives!

What was the most thrilling part was seeing the response to the new collections. I think it's pretty clear that Victorian Gothic and Steam Punk are the two BEST collections yet. The compliments were fantastically ego-building of course, but we took a secret delight in watching tiny personal collections come together in silence as our beautiful customers searched frantically through our wares. We've got quite a list of suggested designs, too! Owls, Jack Russells, Eifle Towers, MORE Sausage Dogs, Book Shelves, Thistle Garden photoshoots... These are where designs are born!

Now, however, Miss Danielle Kathleen and her WONDERFUL shop assistant (thanks Mum!) need to rest our feet and sleeeeep until September (when it all begins again). In the mean time, look out for some shiny new designs in Shop Handmade and keep an eye on Gorman House markets and our Etsy Online Shop! More designs are coming everyone's way!

Oh, and check out the Handmade Market blog! You might see yourself or your favourite shop among all the happy snaps of the day. It is so amazing to be surrounded by such a host of amazingly talented Canberran, local and some interstate designers! It was our first time at the markets and we felt completely welcomed by the lovely designers around us. Mega thanks to  Julie, Rachel, Tania, Jennie and eeeeveryone else that we saw from the Handmade crew!

Lots of love- Danielle Kathleen xxx

P.S. Thank you Tania for taking these beautiful photos!
