These past few months have been mega crazy, but somewhere in all that we managed to do a few really awesome things!
We've become a part of Handmade Living! Handmade Living is a publication being compiled by the Handmade gals, to hit stores and stalls sometime by the end of the year. This was a super fun little project and we can't wait to see the finished product!
We also spent a week with Rebekah Griffiths of Material Pleasures, a fantastic recycled designer clothing dealer in Canberra's Fyshwick, painting up her new facade with some sexy hollyhocks and lawn.
Danielle Kathleen Jewellery also took a road trip to Wollongong for
Queer Collaborations 2010, where we argued politics, met amazing people and networked. While there we stumbled across the most amazing store,
Tee Gallery, who specialise in sourcing the most amazing and creative designs for t-shirts and hoodies from around the world. The brands that were stand-out amazing were
Threadless and
DesignByHumans.
DesignByHumans is the coolest website ever, where the public can submit and vote on the most amazing designs and get them printed! Check them out! While there we networked with the lovely shop owner, and we may even be stocked by them! That'd be awesome, hey? : D
We also stopped at the cutest little shop in Moss Vale on the way home called
Made by Others- it was like Etsy in real life! : D
Yesterday, in a collaborative effort with Mary Luckhurst of
Sealegs Imagery, Jolina O'Hair, professional
Make-Up Artist along with
Sonia Russo,
Leslie Henshaw, hair stylist, and the three sexy models-
Britt Nichols, dressed by
Mediocre Madness,
Melissa Tan and
Julia Price- Danielle Kathleen Jewellery had a crazy
Steampunk Photoshoot! We had an amazing opportunity to get access to Leslie's salon,
Bond Hair and Body of Kingston, and then we were allowed access to the
Australian Railway Historical Society, Kingston, for location. This museum is the most amazing place, ever. Exploring the perfectly preserved trains amongst crazy, rusted old wrecks and clutter. It was like a sexy distopia, with our models poised for flight amongst the ruins. Check out a few of our most favourite shots-
And, through all this we've been designing! The new designs will be in a range of new colours and materials, including wood, coloured acrylics and movable designs! These are still a secret, though! So, shhhhh!
And, last but not least!
This weekend Danielle Kathleen Jewellery will be at Canberra's
Fash 'n' Treasure, a huge fashion market located at the Old Bus Depot this Saturday, July 17th! It's running from 10.00 am until 3.00 pm and should be an amazing day for the fashion-forward ladies and lads out there!
We hope to see you all there, and looking at these amazing links! We love them, and so should you- xxx
